Mission

Mission

The American Student Dental Association (ASDA) is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of students pursuing careers in dentistry. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy.

ASDA has many resources to help dental and predental students, such as support for non-traditional students, discounted NBDE study material, and educating on life after dental school.

ASDA at Harvard School of Dental Medicine

All HSDM students are automatically enrolled in ASDA, with the dues added to our term bill. ASDA serves as both the largest student organization at HSDM as well as one of the major student governing body at HSDM.

If you would like to get more involved with Harvard ASDA, see our events page for upcoming events and conferences you can participate in, or contact any of our board members.

Massachusetts Dental Society

While Harvard ASDA acts as our local chapter to a national student organized dentistry, the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) acts as our state-level association. HSDM students are all members of the Massachusetts Dental Society, and entitled to their member benefits. Please take a look at their website to get started!

Predental Students

HSDM will be offering a Introduction to Dentistry lecture series for pre-dental students, taught by current HSDM Students. The syllabus is now available, stay tuned for more information. ASDA offers resources and benefits for predental students as well! Please take a look at their predental page for resources such as tips to pay for dental school, or getting letters of recommendation.
