Massachusetts PGY1 Licensure Legislative Meeting

The meeting was of a work force task group created by the Board of Registration in Dentistry (BORID) to decide whether or not to support Bill H2080. Bill 2080 is petitioning for acceptance of PGY1 as an option for licensure and the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Dentistry is responsible for licensing dentists and dental hygienists for practice in the Commonwealth, establishing rules, regulations, and policies governing the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene and dental assisting, and investigating complaints against licensed dental professionals.

This task force, which includes the three deans of Massachusetts dental schools, will present their findings on PGY1 Licensure to the State House of Representatives and Senate prior to voting on the bill.

Students from all three Massachusetts dental schools were in attendance.
